The Lexus UX is Lexus' smallest crossover model. The UX which stands for Urban Explorer is designed by Lexus with a very stylish design and bold aura. This model is offered in three variants, namely UX Urban, UX Luxury and the UX F-Sport with prices starting from RM 236,443.50.

Mechanical Features

UX is the first Lexus model built based on the Global Architecture-Compact (GA-C) platform or Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) premium version with the lighter body design and higher levels of rigidity. The platform chassis for this UX uses the MacPherson Strut as the front suspension system and the Wishbone Trailing at the rear.

All Lexus UX 200 variants are powered by the same engine: a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine whose power is channelled to the front wheels via a 10-speed Direct-Shift CVT. The engine used allows the car to generate power of up to 169 hp at 6,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. The car can accelerate from stationary to 100 km/h in just 9.2 seconds and has a top speed of 190 km/h.

Exterior

On the outside, important features and systems that come as standard for all Lexus UX 200 variants are the Smart Entry System, an ultra-compact 3-beam LED projector and an LED combination backlight.

For the rims used, the lowest variant, Urban, comes with a 17 -inch aluminium aero ventilation rim. For Luxury, it is an 18-inch aluminium rim. Meanwhile, the F SPORT also uses an 18-inch size but with its own design.

Interior

The finish for the interior cabin used for each variant varies - Urban uses high-quality leather wrap with black tones and Luxury is given a unique touch with finishes inspired by traditional Japanese art that is complimented with textures such as Japanese paper, Washi, in addition to metal ornaments. While F SPORT is decorated with high-quality leather wrap and metal trim.

The Urban and Luxury variants use a 7-inch full-colour TFT screen digital combination meter, while the F SPORT is over one inch in size with a movable ring meter. This top variant also comes with a head-up display.

Additionally, the Luxury variant offers additional comfort features, with the Lexus Climate Concierge system. This special system helps control the overall temperature of the cabin including ventilation in the front seats.

Storage

The boot space for the Urban variant is smaller compared to the others which is 228L. For the higher variant, the boot size is larger with a 271L capacity that can be opened automatically thanks to its kick sensor power back door.
