Volkswagen’s Tiguan Allspace: All-New Design, Features and More!
After the reveal of the Tiguan last year, the long-wheelbase Tiguan Allspace is the next in line to receive major upgrades, with a focus on digitalisation of the vehicle.

The vehicle features a sharper look, digital cockpit, new technologies, new equipment matrix and comprehensive connectivity. Included are also three TSIs and two TDIs engines available., with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox available upon request or depending on the equipment. For optimum traction, the 4MOTION all-wheel drive option is also available.
It is said that three versions of the Tiguan Allspace will be available in the future - Life, Elegance and R-Line in Germany. The Elegance version showcases the vehicle’s numerous chrome-plated elements in both the interior and exterior, as well as the 19-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the R-Line version will attract sporty drivers with its multifunction leather sports steering wheel touch operation and R-Line logo, 19- or 20-inch wheels and the Digital Cockpit Pro.

The Tiguan Allspace features a newly designed front that includes an independent radiator grille and elegant signature light that exudes an upscale feel. An illuminated strip is also seen in the radiator grille on either side of the redesigned Volkswagen logo. Due to the revamped front, the vehicle has grown 22 mm longer.
Additionally, the vehicle can also be ordered with IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlamps, which is a first for the company. A new ‘sweeping’ indicator function is also equipped for the LED turn signals, which merges well with the overall feel of the longer Tiguan.
Interior-wise, the cabin is equipped with standard three-zone automatic air conditioning via a new digitised module in the center console with touch panels and sliders replacing the precious rotary knobs and buttons. The driver can also choose to receive information through the full-colour head-up display, which projects driving-related information such as directions, speed and warnings in the driver’s field of vision. The optional Trailer Assist system allows for maximum trailer weight of 2.5 tonnes (2,500 kg) with the 4MOTION all-wheel drive equipped.

The IQ.DIVE Travel Assist allows partly automated driving of the vehicle. For the first time, the system can take over steering, braking and acceleration at speeds from 0 km/h (with dual clutch gearbox) or 30 km/h (manual gearbox) up to 210 km/h depending on gearbox type. The Travel Assist relies on familiar systems that include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Assist for both longitudinal and lateral guidance.
The Tiguan Allspace also flaunts an array of new infotainment systems (new-generation MIB3) which links to a wide range of online services. An Online Connectivity Unity (OCU) with integrated eSim allows users to enjoy benefits of the We Connect and We Connect Plus. Depending on equipment level, the MIB3 systems include natural control, streaming services access and cloud-based personalisation via Volkswagen ID with options to integrate apps wirelessly via App-Connect Wireless for both Apple Carplay and Android Auto.
In terms of comfort, the front seats can be ordered in the ergoActive version which comes with electric 4-way lumbar support adjustment and massage function. Optional foldable seats in the third row are available, with luggage space of 700 to 1,755 litres for the five-seater and 760 to 1,920 litres for the seven-seat configuration. The foldable seats can also be dropped to fit flush into the luggage compartment floor, creating an even loading area.

Volkswagen has also partnered with Harman Kardon in developing a premium sound system - a subwoofer, digital 16-channel amplifier, 8 plus 1 high-performance loudspeakers and an amplifier with a 480-watt all combined in one vehicle. Ensuring state-of-the-art acoustic experiences, the system presents four sound scenarios, surround mode and razor-sharp speech reproduction guarantee high-end sound at all seats.
