Toyota Prevents New Land Cruiser Buyers From Reselling Cars For 12 Months - Here’s Why!
Despite receiving a high number of orders reaching up to 22,000 units, Japan has issued an order barring owners of the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 from reselling the car to others for a year.
Based on the vehicle’s sales performance, it is proven that this car is quite popular not only in the Japanese market, but also around the world so much so that it is among the car models used by the Dubai Police.
A Japanese car review blog, Creative311, mentioned that the Japanese Toyota company has prepared an agreement that must be signed by buyers that states that they are not to resell their new Land Cruiser to anyone else. Once signed, the contract will come into effect for 12 months or a year.
What will happen if the buyer does not follow the instructions?
In this case, buyers can no longer buy any Toyota branded cars in the future.
Why is the consequences of breach of contract provided by Toyota Japan so serious?
The order not to sell Land Cruiser cars for a year was taken following comments made by the US Treasury Department about the widespread use of Toyota cars among terrorists. This has indeed tarnished Toyota’s image as a prestigious car manufacturing company.
Based on previously disclosed reports, Toyota cars especially Hilux and Land Cruiser are widely used by terrorist organizations in the Middle East. The brand was chosen because Toyota is said to have expertise in terms of producing strong or bulletproof car bodies.
Important facts about the Land Cruiser 300
The Land Cruiser 300 is the second longest -running SUV car model produced by Toyota. The latest model comes with the latest design and has a lighter overall weight of less than 200 kg compared to previous models.
