Racy, spacious, sporty and comfortable, the new Renault Arkana is 100 percent hybrid and is the first SUV coupe from the French automaker.

It’s been checking all the boxes ever since its launch in Europe last March, and now it adds to the list with two new hybrid systems to its powertrain lineup.

The new offerings from Renault for the new Arkana come in the guises of the brand’s new E-TECH 145 hybrid system and the 1.3 TCe petrol mill with a 12 V micro-hybrid system.

Case in point, the new Renault Arkana with the new E-TECH 145 hybrid engine is now more responsible, more fuel-efficient and ensures maximum driving pleasure.

With this full hybrid solution with a 1.2 kWh 230 V battery, the new Arkana provides all the benefits of electric power capabilities without having to plug in.

Renault claims that the new Arkana can achieve up to 80 percent of driving time in all-electric mode, and depending on the conditions of use, the possible range is up to 3 km.

Besides that, courtesy of its E-TECH ingenuity derived from Formula 1 and the car's aerodynamics, the new Arkana E-TECH Hybrid consumes only 4.8 l/100 km and emits 108 g of CO2/km.

Unique in the C-segment, the 4,570 mm in length SUV coupe houses its E-TECH hybrid system on the rear axle.

In turn, the strategic placement allows the Arkana to offer the same interior space as its combustion engine versions without compromising its compact characteristics.

Additionally, the sporty RS line version of the new Renault Arkana now comes with the e-shifter as a standard feature.

As aforementioned, in addition to the E-TECH 145 hybrid engine, the Arkana also comes with a second offering, the new 1.3 TCe petrol mill with a 12 V micro-hybrid system.

This new version is more powerful than the TCe 140 hp mill that was offered initially. Its new 1.3-litre engine develops 160 hp, consumes only 5.7 l/100km and emits 130g of CO2/km.

Moreover, the influence of the 12 V micro-hybrid system is ingenious, as it reduces average fuel consumption by up to 8% and cuts CO2 emissions down by up to 8.5%.

Another new feature, made available on all TCe 140 hp and 160 hp engines, is the Sailing Stop function.

Said function can be activated or deactivated by the driver via Renault’s drive mode system called the ‘Multi-Sense’.

Under this mode, it reduces CO2 emissions by up to 4 additional grams due to the freewheeling of the vehicle during deceleration phases between 30 and 140 km/h.

Renault Arkana’s program director François Laurent concluded, “The new Renault Arkana is the perfect embodiment of the Nouvelle Vague’s revival and modernity to conquer the C-segment. It is a new kind of ‘car for living’ that democratises electric mobility for all thanks to its efficient and affordable E-TECH technology.”

All in all, the new Renault Arkana has attracted over 10,000 customers since its launch, now the new E-TECH 145 and 1.3 TCe 160 mills with 12 V micro-hybrid system will further prolong that success.
