A piece of automotive history, one of Bentley’s rare and distinguished models, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner, was put up for purchase.
Built by Mulliner in 2015, they were originally meant as a private commission until Bentley Mulliner was green-lit to produce a limited run of them.
Only five examples were built, and this unique modern coachbuilt car was specifically designed for patrons seeking the finest in luxury limousine transportation.
Designed and built entirely by hand, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner is the ultimate demonstration of the extraordinary skills and abilities of Bentley’s in-house bespoke division.
To suit the bespoke palates of its patrons, the examples available for sale each have their own unique identities and specifications.
For instance, one out of the five adorns a Silver Frost over Moroccan Blue exterior paint, paired with an Imperial Blue and Linen interior completed by Burr Walnut veneer.
Second example is cloaked with a Damson over Black Crystal paintwork, complemented by Damson and Twine leathers and Dark Stained Burr Walnut veneer for the interior.
Next, the third comes in an Onyx over Candy Red exterior, with a Hotspur and Camel interior finished with Olive Ash veneer.
Then, the fourth in Rubino Red over Light Gazelle bodywork, with an interior in Fireglow and Twine leather paired with Burr Walnut veneer.
Finally, the fifth gets a single tone Black Sapphire exterior, with an Imperial Blue and Camel interior contrasted by Dark Stained Burr Walnut veneer.
Speaking of the interior, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner was designed around the need for four passenger seats of equal comfort.
Their arrangement, inspired by luxury private aviation, includes two rear-facing seats, allowing occupants to talk face-to-face.
Emphasising a true luxurious experience, a bottle cooler with crystal flutes sits between the front facing seats, with a beverage cabinet with bespoke crystal tumblers between the rear facing seats.
Also present are veneered, folding picnic tables that allow the occupants to work comfortably on the move, with iPad docking and charging stations.
Plus, Bentley’s craftsmanship prowess is further enhanced by the three handmade dials, which display the UK and local time, alongside the exterior temperature.
Completing the surrounding, the finest materials have been applied throughout, utilising Bentley’s world-renowned skills with leather and wood.
Furthermore, it also features bespoke technologies, such as a custom heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system built by Bentley Mulliner specifically for the Mulsanne Grand Limousine.
With two discrete zones, it provides each of the four rear passengers control of their own micro-climates without affecting the experience of their travelling companions.
Besides that, among the many additional bespoke digital features, the limousines are equipped with an intercom system for communication with the driver.
Interestingly, the interior division between the front seats and the rear features electrochromic ‘smart glass’, the first time this technology has been implemented in a Bentley.
Functioning at the touch of a button, the entire panel can be switched from transparent to opaque for complete privacy.
On another note, as sleek as it is spacious, the most remarkable feature of all is the elegant profile of the car itself.
Unlike traditional ‘stretched’ limousines, it has been carefully designed to preserve the Mulsanne’s effortless lines and aesthetic purity.
The result is the longest manufacturer-built limousine in the world, with its shape adapted beautifully to the length of its wheelbase.
In short, the stretched model sits on a chassis and suspension that were specially re-engineered by Bentley.
Notably, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine by Mulliner sees a 1,000 mm stretch to the body and a raised roof to provide an additional 79 mm of headroom in the rear.
Performance-wise, the power is provided by Bentley’s iconic 6¾-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, with 505 bhp (512 PS) and 1,020 Nm of torque.
Perfecting its extravagant demeanour, it rides on a set of unique 21-inch wheels which have been treated to match the car’s exterior paintwork.
Boasting further, even its stainless-steel Flying ‘B’ bonnet mascot is a bespoke commission that gets its plinth engraved with ‘Coachbuilt by Mulliner’.
Currently, they are obtainable for purchase through Bentley’s retail partner in the United Arab Emirates, Bentley Emirates, with delivery anywhere in the world available as required.
That said, with production of the Mulsanne having ceased last year, these models represent a unique chance for patrons to acquire an iconic piece of modern Bentley history.
