New Bentley Flying Spur Speed Debuts as The Brand’s Fastest Saloon
-full.jpg)
Bentley has just updated its Flying Spur flagship saloon, replacing the old W12 engine with its new V8 PHEV setup.
It is no secret that Bentley has given up on its signature W12 engine, replacing the unique displacement setup for an electrified V8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup. Following its introduction in the new Continental GT, this V8 PHEV setup has now made its way to Bentley’s newly updated flagship saloon, the 2025 Bentley Flying Spur.

Thanks to its new V8 PHEV powertrain, the new Flying Spur Speed is now the fastest saloon model the brand has ever produced.
While some may say that there are no replacements for displacements, it appears that this new V8 PHEV might be an exception for that rule, as the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and single-motor combo deliver more power than its W12 predecessor. Rated at 771 HP and 1,000 NM, this V8 PHEV setup makes the new Flying Spur Speed the fastest and most potent saloon model ever made by the Crewe-based marque.
How fast, you ask? Despite weighing 209 KG more than its predecessor, this electrified super-limo can go from 0-100 KM/H in just 3.5 seconds—0.3 seconds faster than the previous W12-powered Flying Spur Speed.

The new electrified powertrain setup also garners the new Flying Spur better fuel economy and added electrified driving experience, as its sizable 25.9-kWh battery pack grants it up to 76 KM (WLTP) of EV-only range. Combined with a full tank of petrol, the new Flying Spur can cover up to 830 KM of travel distance, which is farther than its V6 PHEV-powered predecessor has achieved.
To go with its more potent powertrain setup, Bentley engineers have also fitted the new Flying Spur Speed with plenty of chassis gizmos to provide better driving performance without compromising too much on the comfort. Included here are the Bentley Performance Active Chassis system with all-wheel steering, Bentley Dynamic Ride suspension with new twin-valve dampers, active torque vectoring, an electronically controlled Limited Slip Differential (LSD), and many more.

On the visual front, the new Flying Spur is almost indistinguishable from its predecessor, with the only notable changes we can spot being the new front bumper design featuring squared-off lower air dams. Special touches for the Speed variant include the bespoke front grille, a distinctive rear splitter, Speed badges on its fenders, and many more.

The changes are somewhat a bit more prominent as we get inside the new Flying Spur, with the biggest addition being the optional Wellness Seating Specification. This add-on package essentially adds the multiple seating adjustments previously available for the front seats to the rear ones, granting rear passengers better comfort and flexibility.

Not to forget, the Wellness Seating Specification also adds both the Postural Adjust and Seat Auto Climate functions that automatically adjust the seats’ posture and turn on either the ventilated or heating functions according to the current body condition of the occupants. Completing the cabin upgrades are the new air ioniser, an improved mobile connectivity system that allows passengers to precondition the car from their mobile devices, as well as over-the-air (OTA) software update capabilities.

Deliveries for the new 2025 Bentley Flying Spur Speed are slated to commence by the end of this year in selected markets, where the base car is priced at around the £220,000 (RM1.25 million approximately) region for its native UK market.
