Honda Malaysia finally opens bookings for the long-awaited 11th Generation All-New Civic. It has been taunted as one of ‘the most fun to drive Civic ever made’ by the Japanese carmaker.

The All-New Civic is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter of next year.

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Madoka Chujo said that since its introduction to the Malaysian market in 2001, Honda Malaysia had sold close to 148,000 units of Civic. Meanwhile, the iconic 10th Generation Civic, which was launched in 2016, has contributed more than 66,600 units to the total Civic sales, leading the C-segment by 71 percent market share as of October 2021.

“The 11th Generation Civic is a modern interpretation of the classic and timeless Honda values, which is human-centred in approach. This model offers a piece of the future, raising the benchmark of a C-segment sedan in every way while maintaining the best of the Civic DNA, which Malaysians love. The All-New Civic is truly A Legacy, Reborn!.” she added.

The new Civic is now larger and broader, with 4,678mm in length, 1,802mm in width, a height of 1,415mm and 2,735mm in its wheelbase. It has expanded rear thread to provide a low and wide stance. A Civic-first, which results from Honda’s advanced manufacturing technique and design approach, is Lazer Brazing technology, aimed at giving the All-New Civic a sleeker roofline and stronger body rigidity.

The All-New Civic features a sporty, sophisticated yet premium outlook. The 11th Generation Civic will also see the sporty RS variant being introduced into the Civic lineup for the first time. The RS exterior accentuates the All-New Civic’s signature sporty and bold looks with Black Painted Side Mirrors, Shark Fin Antenna, Outer Door Handles, New Trunk Spoiler and 18-inch Black Matte Alloy Wheels. There are also new LED Headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL). You can spot the Civic’s styling DNA in its new Rear Combi LED Taillights.

Performance-wise, the All-New Civic’s powertrain sees a significant change, where it now comes with the enhanced 1.5-litre VTEC Turbocharged engine. Engine outputs have been raised to a maximum power output of 180 hp and segment-leading 240Nm of torque. It comes with new drive mode options; ECON, Normal and Sport Mode.

The enhanced Honda SENSING also comes with a new feature - the Lead Car Departure Notification System, where it notifies the driver of the start of the preceding car. The full suite of enhanced Honda SENSING safety features in All-New Civic RS are Lead Car Departure Notification System (NEW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Auto High Beam (AHB).

Other safety features include Honda LaneWatch, Six Airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Agile Handling Assist (AHA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Auto Brake Hold (ABH), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Walk Away Auto Lock, Remote Engine Start as well as a new safety feature for Civic which is Driver Attention Monitor.
