Vietnam's Vinfast EVs - VFE35 and VFE36

Beginning its era in 1993, VinFast is part of Vingroup, an infamous private corporation that runs businesses in several sectors such as real estate, industrial, hospitality, education, and technology.
VinFast announced its first internal combustion engine vehicle at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, which looks like a pair of luxury sedans powered by BMW engines. Followingly, the company launched a line-up of electric scooters, Luxury Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), and other vehicles into the Vietnamese market.
In 2021, the company hit an annual sale of around 30,000 units in Vietnam. Different from last year, they targeted 56,000 electric vehicles to be sold by 2022, but due to global chip shortage, they had to cut it down to 15,000 vehicles for their sales target.

Growing fast in the EV world, VinFast debuted its VFe35 and VFe36 at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show. Both crossovers were built under a blend of VinFast and Pininfarina taste in cars. Pininfarina is famous for its design done for classic Ferraris.
There are two versions of each vehicle, the Eco and Plus models. The VFe35 ranges around 459km in the Eco model and 500km in the Plus model. The VFe36 has two battery options with almost 500km in the Eco model, and the Plus will get around 676km of range.

VFe35 and VFe36 consist of 402 hp and 640 Nm of torque, various airbags, a virtual assistant, remote control by VinFast App, an e-commerce service, video game, in-car office, and a location-based with interactive advertising.
The EVs features include a 15.4-inch infotainment screen, panoramic glass roof, adaptive LED headlights, heads-up display, 15.5-inch touchscreen that can shift pictures by choosing “zen mode” just by a swipe, and a couple of electronic driving assistance features including collision warning and automatic parking.

VinFast has already manufactured the vehicles in Haiphong, Vietnam, and is working with ProLogium, a solid-state battery manufacturer based in Taiwan.
In mid-2022, the company will open the VFE35 and VFE36 for pre-ordering, with deliveries expected to begin by the end of the year. Initially, the company will focus on California, where it already has its headquarters, and aim to have 60 company-owned dealerships within the next 12 to 18 months.
