Volkswagen Welcomes The New Volkswagen Arteon R-Line 4MOTION!

Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) recently launched the new Arteon R-Line 4MOTION, its flagship model. 

“The Arteon is arguably the most beautiful model in our line-up - and matched with impressive performance and interior refinement, it isn’t just all good looks. Furthermore, it is currently offered with sales tax exemption, and so I am confident that the new Arteon R-Line 4MOTION will be a best- seller because it is truly unique and there isn’t anything like it in the market,” said Managing Director of VPCM, Erik Winter. 

Under the hood is a 2.0L TSI turbocharged engine that produces 284hp and 350 Nm of torque, as well as is paired with a 7-speed wet clutch DSG direct shift gearbox. It is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. 

Following that, the new Arteon comes with the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system and has a fuel efficiency of 7.4L/100 km. 

Key highlights of the exterior include an all-LED headlight system, front headlights that are equipped with Dynamic Cornering Lights, as well as the LED 3D rear taillights that come with sequential turn signals. Not only that, it also comes with All Weather Light for wider illumination. 

As for the interior, the ErgoComfort seats are finished in Nappa Carbon leather and the driver is spoiled with maximum comfort with 14-way adjustment options, as well as a massage function. The new Arteon is also equipped with 30 colour option ambient lighting that has adjustable intensity. 

Next to that, the premium Harman Kardon 700-watt sound system that includes 12 speakers that produces sound in four modes that are Pure, Chill Out, Live and Energy. 

Equipped with the high-resolution 11.7” Digital Cockpit, the driver is able to access driving data with six optional screen views and 30 different combinations that also comes with 2D and 3D navigation as well as a full 100% map view.

The 9.2” Discover Pro infotainment system is compatible with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Not forgetting that the new 3-zone ‘Climatronic’ air conditioning can be controlled by a touch-sensitive control panel.

In addition to that, the vehicle also comes with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) that includes 15 selectable increments and five different driving modes that are Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport and Individual.

The new Arteon comes inclusive of a generous set of safety and driver assistance systems such as Lane Assist, Side Assist, Driver Alert system, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, 360° Area View system, Post Collision Braking System, Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS), and Electronic Different Lock (XDS).

Coming standard in the vehicle is Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Brake Assist (BA), Active Bonnet for pedestrian protection, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and Manoeuvre Braking.

Also included in the new Arteon is a generous boot space of 563 litres, as well as the Easy Open and Easy Close function that allows for hands-free opening and delayed closing of the boot. 

It is offered in Manganese Grey, Lapiz Blue,  Pyrite Silver, Deep Black and Oryx White.
