After introducing Weimar Cars’ M6, the company has debuted its latest model, the M7 that has been taunted to be a level 5 autonomous car!
For the record, The M7 was unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show last year, and despite minor styling changes, the M7 has entered production looking more or less the same as the concept car. Exterior-wise, this Chinese EV features an attractive front LED strip, and in typical EV fashion, lacks a front grille.
On the inside, the M7 features a very clean design that includes a horizontal infotainment screen similar to that of VW's digital cockpits. At the same time, the rest of the cabin takes on a minimalist approach.
As for the powertrain, the info isn’t yet to be available, but Weimar Cars claim that the M7 has a claimed range of over 700 km. It’s also been stated that the M7 is level 5 capable and is backed up by four surround-view cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, three LiDARs, seven 8-megapixel cameras, five millimetre-wave radars, and one high-precision positioning module.
It takes at least four Nvidia DRIV Orin-X chips to power these advanced systems, but Weimar said this enables the M7 to achieve level 5 autonomous driving. However, the claim is still a claim, and Weimar cannot show us real-life proof.
