Four Men Robbed A Jewellery Shop Owner At Lukut, Port Dickson
Four armed men robbed a gold jewellery shop owner at a petrol station in Lukut, Port Dickson on February 16, 2021.
The suspects used two vehicles to block the front and back of the 50-year-old victim's car, when he was about to refuel his car's petrol.
Port Dickson police chief Supt Aidi Sham Mohamed said the suspects snatched three bags containing gold jewellery, a mobile phone, an undisclosed amount of cash and some documents belonging to the victim.
He said that the victim sustained a minor injury on his hand after being attacked with a machete by one of the suspects.
“The suspects then escaped but the victim decided to give chase. He managed to intercept one of the vehicles, which resulted in the driver losing control of the car and causing it to overturn,” he explained.
The victim then rushed to the overturned vehicle and managed to recover two bags containing jewellery. However, the suspects of the vehicle had escaped in another Perodua Myvi.
Police had recovered two machetes and a walkie-talkie from the suspects' vehicle. Apparently, the Honda CR-V had been reported stolen in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 25, 2021.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
The case is being probed under Section 394 of the Penal Code for armed robbery, which carries a jail term up to 20 years, a fine or whipping.
