Audi Museum Is Now Available On Apps
Audi launched the new Audi Tradition app on February 2 to coincide with a new special exhibition, the “Der fünfte Ring”. It acts as a virtual tour guide for museum visitors and allows them to enjoy the museum experience whether on the go or at home as a digital companion.
The apps also allow visitors with in-depth information about the shown automobiles in written content, an audio commentary, or even a 360-degree panorama view of chosen models. Visitors can do what they aren't allowed to do in the museum on their devices' screens: They can, for example, enter the vehicle and examine the interior in detail.
In addition, it will provide additional multimedia content relevant to the display, such as a drone flight through the exhibition, in addition to the content associated with the exhibitions in "Der fünfte Ring." The app also enables access to the Audi Tradition store, which sells accessories, books, and spare parts for Audi's historic automobiles and information about exhibits that are always on show at the Audi museum mobile. The new Audi Tradition app is available for iOS and Android smartphones in all major app stores.
“Even though the coronavirus pandemic is making many social activities impossible or only possible with restrictions at the moment, we decided to stick to our exhibition launch date – this is how we want to put the spotlight on culture and history.
“I’m very pleased that we have a digital feature with our new Audi Tradition app. And thanks to this app, we are not only making visits to the museum even more interactive and engaging through the use of multimedia, but we are also making it possible to experience the exhibition digitally while out and about or simply from the comfort of your couch at home.”
“At the same time, we are, of course, hoping that the app will spark people’s interest in visiting the museum. Enjoying the exhibition with all your senses live on location is and will always be a truly special experience,” said Stefan Trauf, general manager of Auto Union GmbH.
Meanwhile, the Der fünfte Ring“ will be on display at the Audi museum mobile from February 2 through September 24, 2022; currently, visitors must either be fully vaccinated or have recovered from a COVID-19 infection and present a negative COVID-19 test or proof that they have received a booster vaccination.
The highest-displacement motorcycle ever constructed at NSU is on display during the exhibition. The eight-horsepower two-cylinder motorcycle from 1914 was the most powerful, fastest, and most expensive production motorcycle of its time. A worker had to work for nearly two years to pay the 1,575 German marks for the machine, as they earned an average of only 900 German marks per year at the time. The new special exhibition also includes NSU's record-breaking Delphin III, the fastest motorbike of the 1950s. In 1956, it reached a high speed of 339 km/h. Visitors can get more information through large-scale display walls and four multimedia stations, in addition to the individual displays.
