Volvo Hands Over First Batch Of XC40 Electric SUV To 65 Malaysian Customers
On Saturday, Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) delivered the first batch of Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric, or XC40 EV for short, to Malaysian customers.
A total of 65 XC40 EV owners received their respective units across the country, marking VCM's next milestone as VCM parent Swedish automaker Volvo transitioned to an all-electric future.
VCM has received over 300 orders for the XC40 EV to date and expects to deliver 100 units of the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric to new owners by April 30.
For the record, the XC40 EV is the country's first fully electric vehicle, as well as the third CKD XC40 variant.
As part of the company's pledge to be completely carbon-neutral by 2040, the order-taking process for the car is being moved online via its website.
Customers can submit an order request online on the company's official website for RM262,459.75.
The standard five-year manufacturer's warranty with five years free service package, as well as five years roadside assistance and an eight-year EV battery warranty, are all included in the price.
The XC40 EV is propelled by two electric motors that produce 408 PS and 660 Nm of torque.
It completes the century sprint in 4.9 seconds, making it the fastest Volvo SUV available today.
The XC40 EV comes in five different colours: Black Stone, Crystal White Pearl, Denim Blue, Glacier Silver, and Sage Green.
