14,536 Accident Cases Reported, Selangor Records Highest Number
Despite the excitement of having Raya Aidilfitri this year and long holidays for Malaysians, yet there were rising number of accident cases pouring tragic story and sadness to affected families.
As discovered, three states reported to have highest number of accidents cases:
• Selangor - 284 accidents
• Johor - 273 accidents
• Perak - 152 accidents
• Perlis - 4 accidents

Then, the summons issued by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) during the nine days of Op Selamat 18 as listed below:
• Speed limit - (212,469 summons)
• Traffic light violation offense - (3,613 summons)
• Cut line - (2,903 summons)
• Use mobile phones - (1,712 summons)
• Cut in double lines - (1,080 suits)
• Drive in emergency lane - (735 summons)

Meanwhile, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has issued a total of 16,377 traffic offense summonses during Operation Hari Raya Aidilfitri (HRA) 2022 nationwide until yesterday.
Among the main offenses are:
• Failed to obey traffic lights
• Drive in the emergency lane
• Use a mobile phone while driving
• Cut a double line
• Drive over the speed limit
Apparently, most of the summonses issued by PDRM and JPJ has showed that the average driver in Malaysia commits the same offense.
Found guilty of committing any of these mistakes will not be compounded but will have to be resolved in court.
