Apple Car Could Be WINDOWLESS - It Might Offer Virtual Reality Experience To Passengers Instead
Apple has been working on developing its own vehicles since 2014. According to previous rumours, this smartphone manufacturer will release a self-driving car in 2025.
Various patents have been filed to protect their inventions since efforts to develop these future vehicles began.
According to VR Scout, Apple is likely considering designing a windowless car with a virtual reality system.
or (VR).
The patent was recently filed by Apple with the United States Patent & Trademark Office on May 3rd, with the purpose of replacing the real world view outside the car with a virtual environment.
According to the file, "autonomous vehicles may have limited or no windows, so passengers' perceived movement in the vehicle may not be the same as what they see, potentially causing travel intoxication," and Apple devised a solution to this problem.
How does the VR technology help to alleviate motion sickness?
The VR headset will display the scenery around the car as captured by a camera mounted on the car's body. The VR content displayed is synced with the movement of the car.
Furthermore, the same VR can be used to watch videos, read, and so on.
This technology will be a huge achievement in the world of self-driving cars, but the level of safety remains a question, as does another.
Many people expressed their thoughts on this latest innovation on Twitter. Many people do not appear to take this technology seriously:
What are your thoughts on the technology that Apple is attempting to create? Will its use on Malaysian roads be permitted if it is commercialised?
