A New Flagship EV Teased, Cadillac Presents The Celestiq

Ensuing its first electrified model, the Lyriq, Cadillac has now teased a new flagship EV that it’s coming up with, dubbed the Celestiq.

Expected for an unveiling this summer, the brand is aiming for the Celestiq to be the next Cadillac of electric vehicles, reported the Wall Street Journal.

Although the details are very sparse, it’s said that this uber-luxury EV will be hand-built at GM's Warren tech center, and will be an all-electric Ultium-powered sedan.

It will have customized wood trim and four-wheel steering, along with Ultra Cruise, which is the next iteration of GM's Super Cruise hands-free driving tech.

Also, the Celestiq will feature a pillar-to-pillar dashboard screen and a smart-glass roof with customizable transparency quadrants for each of the four passengers.

The Celestiq will have a limited run of fewer than 500 units per year, and will have a starting price of USD 300,000 (RM 1,319,190).

That said, the Celestiq will be a bold move for Cadillac as it will be yet another rebranding for a brand that has been continuously doing so in the 21st century.

Nonetheless, it will run contrary to Cadillac's current direction with sedans, which has been leaning into smaller and sportier V models.
