Parading a unique design and enhanced specification, Vauxhall has revealed the new Corsa-e Anniversary Edition to celebrate 40 years of Vauxhall superminis.

Fully electric, the Corsa-e Anniversary Edition includes styling updates inspired by Vauxhall’s heritage, the first Corsa, badged Nova in the UK unveiled 40 years ago in 1982.

First off, the Anniversary Edition is available exclusively in a new ‘Record Red’ metallic paint finish, inspired by the ‘Carmine Red’ from the original Nova.

It features an all-around black grille, and rear Vauxhall Griffin badges that are included on all models. Alongside it, a black ‘Corsa’ lettering, which is prominently centred across the rear tailgate.

Completing the exterior, it comes with a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, finished in gloss black, with matt grey inserts.

Transitioning inside, the Anniversary Edition has been decked out with a modern interpretation of the classic Nova’s tartan seat fabric.

Then, it also gets a black dashboard strip and interior number plate highlighting the Nova and Corsa’s 40-year heritage in the UK.

For added comfort and convenience, the model is equipped with heated front seats and steering wheel as well as electric folding and heated door mirrors.

Infotainment-wise, it gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 7-inch colour touchscreen that supports satellite navigation, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Based on the GS Line version, the Corsa-e Anniversary Edition also benefits from a comprehensive list of standard equipment.

Said list comprises front and rear parking sensors, a 180-degree panoramic rear-view camera and blind-spot alert.

Whereas, the standard driver assistance features include lane departure warning with lane keep assist, speed sign recognition, driver drowsiness alert and automatic emergency city braking.

Performance-wise, it is powered by a 134 hp (100 kW) electric motor, allowing the 50-kWh battery to provide up to 357 km (222 miles) of range on a single charge.

Furthermore, it is capable of supporting up to 100 kW of rapid charging. For an 80 percent charge, it takes just 30 minutes to complete.

Pricing-wise, the Corsa-e Anniversary Edition tags at GBP 31,000 (RM 167,295). The model will be available to order exclusively online and is limited to just 1,000 units in the UK.

That said, the model forms part of Vauxhall’s comprehensive electrification offering, which it will offer an electrified variant across its entire model line-up by 2024.

Set to be an electric-only brand, it will have a fully electric car and van range by 2028, seven years ahead of the UK Government deadline.
