Devel Sixteen: The Impossible Now A Reality, Devel Motors’ Fabled Hypercar In Production Form
![]()
No longer just smoke and mirrors, Devel Motors, the UAE-based automaker’s fabled 16-cylinder hypercar, the Devel Sixteen is finally here in production form.
Built for a specific customer, it is currently undergoing final tuning. However, one minor detail is contradicting, it only has eight cylinders.

Before ridiculing the Devel Sixteen for not living up to its moniker, it’s actually as per the customer’s request for this first production unit to only have half of the cylinders promised.
As such, instead of boosting the 5,000 hp (3,728 kW) originally promised, there will only be 2,000 hp lurking in the engine bay, thanks to a custom-built twin-turbocharged V8.

This first unit with the V8 is targeting a top speed of 400 km/h (249 mph), meaning even with half the cylinders firing, it is still stupid fast.
Fret not, for the second production unit, it will pack a proper 5,000 hp V16. However, reports are claiming that said power rating is now down to 3,000 hp (2,237 kW).

Exterior-wise, the hypercar is 5,182 mm long, weighs 2,268 kg and nothing else on the road is akin to how this Devel looks.
Whereas inside, this production unit seems to adopt many components of its interior from the Chevrolet C8 Corvette.

Nonetheless, from the looks of it, this Devel Sixteen is sure to turn heads when it’s wreaking havoc in the streets as it’s driving and sounding like a monster.
In short, development-wise, this is further than any other startups ever managed. One that comes to mind is the Greek-based Spyros Panopoulos Automotive, with its Chaos hypercar.
