It's Official! - The Bugatti Bolide Named The World’s Most Beautiful Hypercar
It's now official the Bugatti Bolide is the world's most beautiful hypercar!
A panel of professional designers named the futuristic four-wheeler the world's most beautiful hypercar at the 36th Festival Automobile International in Paris. The Bolide took first place in the prestigious competition, which is similar to a car beauty pageant, ahead of three other stylish nominees, including the Gordon Murray T.50, the Mercedes-AMG One, and the Bac Mono 2.
The French manufacturer first unveiled a prototype of the track-only showstopper in October 2020, and it's easy to see why it earned this recent honour. The low-slung racer is distinguished by sleek lines, massive hood scoops, massive Le Mans-style fenders, a massive cockpit, a roof-top shark fin, a striking rear wing, and a set of X-shaped taillights.
In true Bugatti fashion, it also has an insane 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine that the automaker claims can produce 1,825 hp and 1,364 ft lbs of torque. Not to mention, the lightweight road rocket weighs only 2,734 pounds, resulting in a weight-to-power ratio of 0.67 kilogrammes per horsepower.
What's the best part? Bugatti launched a $4.7 million production version in August of this year that is nearly identical to the prototype that won the design award. (It simply has a slightly less powerful mill with 1,577 horses and 1,180 ft lbs of twist.) If you're one of the lucky collectors who gets one of the 40 examples, you'll be driving a true beauty queen.
The Bolide wasn't the only vehicle to win awards. The Audi Q4 E-Tron Sportback was named the most beautiful show car, the DS Aero Sport Lounge was named the most beautiful concept car, the Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR was named the most beautiful futuristic car, and the Maserati MC20 was named the most beautiful supercar at the event in Paris. Meanwhile, the Honda E received the most beautiful interior.
