Kia EV6 Malaysian Specs Leaked! – 506 Km Range, 77.4 kWh Battery, AWD, GT-Line; RM300k
Following the preview of the Kia EV6 in Malaysia last month, a local dealer recently revealed additional information about the electric vehicle, which is set to go on sale this year. The EV6 debuted in March 2021 and is based on the same Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture as the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
The powertrain is available with the Long Range powertrain and in GT-Line guise, with two electric motors for all-wheel drive and a total system output of 325 PS (321 hp or 239 kW) and 605 Nm of torque, good for a 0-100 km/h time of 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 183 km/h.
The electric motors are powered by a 77.4-kWh lithium-ion battery with a range of 506 kilometres according to the WLTP standard. The EV6 supports a maximum AC input (Type 2 connection) of 11 kW for charging, with a full charge taking about seven hours. It also supports 350 kW DC charging (CCS2 connection), with a 10-80% state of charge achieved in just 18 minutes.
Meanwhile, the exterior of the GT-Line includes body-colored wheel arch cladding, a more aggressive front apron, and gloss black accents. The rear apron differs from the standard Wind exterior in that the black trim is recessed at the corners for the reflectors, and dashed pins integrate the reverse light.
Those interested can book now, with deliveries expected to begin in September or October of this year, according to the dealer. The EV6 GT-Line Long Range AWD is expected to cost RM300,000 and will include a five-year, 150,000-kilometer vehicle warranty as well as a seven-year, 150,000-kilometer battery warranty.
Despite the shared EV platform, the EV6 is larger than its Hyundai counterpart, measuring 4,695 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, 1,550 mm tall, and having a 2,900 mm wheelbase. The Ioniq 5 is 4,635 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, 1,605 mm tall, and has a 3,000 mm wheelbase.
