BMW Group Malaysia Launches Expert Certification Programme
Through BMW's world-class High Voltage Specialist Certification programme, BMW Group Malaysia is now working to produce more highly skilled individuals in the field of electric mobility.
The introduction of this certification programme has further increased the uptake of electromobility since the BMW I was introduced earlier this year, in addition to enhancing the Malaysian electric vehicle (EV) landscape with a broad charging range.
Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia said, “We understood the obstacles faced by Malaysians in adopting EVs, such as range anxiety, which we have been alleviating by rolling out EV infrastructure across the country. At the same time, service and repair are also important points of consideration, ensuring that BMW i owners have greater peace of mind when it comes to the ownership of their BMW electric vehicles.”
Known as BMW High Voltage Specialists, candidates with specialised knowledge are to oversee BMW electric vehicles at the highest level. The prospect must already be a certified BMW High Voltage Technician and must go through a pre-selection procedure that includes a knowledge test and an interview to qualify for the position.
They also have to undergo intensive training held for 15 days, and have to pass two theory tests as well as four practical tests before going through the last theory test and do practical demonstrations involving high voltage operation to obtain the certificate which will end in 10 days.
Conducted at the BMW Group Regional Training Center, this BMW High Voltage Specialist certified program enables the best and most advanced BMW i vehicle service and repair services to be offered worldwide.
