A  TikTok video has gone viral over the weekend, depicting the trauma faced by parents and their child after being hit by a Perodua Myvi whilst travelling in their Mazda CX-8 through the Penchala Link tunnel. The video, presumably taken by the family in the Mazda, shows the driver of the Perodua Myvi, which overturned and rested on its roof, being angrily questioned for alleged dangerous driving.

The conversation that ensued alleges that the woman driver in the Myvi was both speeding and using her phone whilst driving, which subsequently caused the incident that took place at 5PM on Saturday, 30 July.

The passengers of the Mazda CX-8, Shalwiza Rahmat mentioned that her husband, Arif Bashah Kamal, 39, was driving while she and her son, Adam Bashah, were sitting in the passenger seat at the back during the accident happened. One of the parents, Shalwiza Rahmat, 34 years old claims that she heard the sound of something ‘’being hit’’ from behind and caused their vehicle to manoeuvre to the left and hit the wall.

"At the time of the incident we were in the middle lane while the Perodua Myvi was in the third lane and very fast," she stated.

‘’The Myvi driver got out of the car sluggishly without help and it looks like there are bruises on her eyes besides no scratches. She didn't even look at us."

"I shouted at her, and it was nothing to be proud of. At that moment as a mother, I was very angry because of the way she drives," she claimed.

Commenting further, Shalwiza and her family had been examined at a private hospital while a police report has also been lodged to help further investigation on the case.
