The Toyota Hilux leads UMWT’s July 2022 sales

UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) wrapped up its sales effort last month on a high thanks to the Toyota Hilux pick-up truck offering. The firm revealed that a total of 1,788 units of said pick-up truck model were sold throughout July 2022.
Said effort also sees the Hilux retain its crown as Malaysia’s best-selling pick-up truck – a title which it has held on to since 2005.
Overall, UMWT’s efforts in July saw it deliver a total of 6,625 units under the Toyota brand, as well as 13 units contributed by its Lexus premium marque. This brings a combined total of 6,637 units delivered, whereas the total year-to-date sales figure reads at 52,548 units as of last month.
Compared to the firm’s efforts in the same period last year, this latest figure marks a sizeable 48% increase – the firm delivered 35,561 units of both Toyota and Lexus vehicles at the same time in 2021.
“We are working around the clock to intensify production to ensure faster delivery to new car owners who have been patiently waiting,” said Ravindran K, President of UMW Toyota Motor, before thanking customers for both their patience and understanding.

Following this stellar effort last month, UMWT enters August with renewed vigour, especially towards its staple B-segment offerings the Yaris hatch and Vios sedan. UMWT will offer enthusiasts of both models with benefits worth up to RM4,000 on top of cash rebates throughout this month.
Through this initiative, UMWT expects its sales figures to continue climbing steadily.
