Face masks are still required during public transport and e-hailing travels

The Government announced that, starting Sept 7, 2022, face masks are still mandatory for travellers commuting aboard public transports. This includes buses, trains, planes, and taxis, with that last category covering e-hailing vehicles too.
That aside, Minister of Health Khairy Jamaluddin declared yesterday that face masks are now optional indoors, which means the public may now enter shopping malls or recreational areas without wearing one.
This is an improvement of the Covid-19 pandemic wellbeing amongst Malaysians. Previously the public were still required to wear face masks whenever it involves outdoor activities with others members of the public.

As a precaution, and the fact that Malaysia is still not free from this pandemic - there are over 27,000 active cases (reported by covidnow.moh.gov.my) - the public are still encouraged to keep donning their face masks, especially when visiting hospitals or any healthcare facilities.
Apart from that, there are also several other diseases and infections spiking across the country too. In other words, it’s probably best to keep both your masks on and sanitising your hands frequently, especially if you’re frequently moving about in crowded public spaces.
