End of the SST sales tax exemption apparently has not affected Perodua, as it was proclaimed that the total orders in August for the 2022 Alza was 26,039 units, an increase of 42% compared to July.
Collectively, the new Alza has received orders totalling up to 51,000 units, and has registered a total of 7,682 units, which is 15% of all total orders in July and August.
For context, the new model’s bookings which were launched on 20 July were opened earlier than the launch date, and managed to collect a total of 39,000 bookings at that time.
As for its latest production capacity, Perodua was able to produce 3,500 units of the new Alza per month, an amount that has already exceeded its original target of 3,000 units per month.
Therefore, to meet public demand and further its sales growth, the company is working to increase its production capacity, notably for the new Alza.
All in all, the total order to date for all Perodua's best-selling models including the Bezza, Myvi and Axia is approximately 250,000 units.
