2022 Petronas MotoGP To See 60,000 Strong Attendees

KLIA Police Chief ACP Imran
In a press conference yesterday, KLIA District police chief ACP Imran Abd Rahman had promised that the 2022 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) would run smoothly without any hiccups at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
He further added that to ensure this, the police force will deploy 650 police officers to monitor the attendees and another 120 traffic policemen would be put in charge of traffic control.
According to ACP Imran, the plus point of this year's MotoGP is that it does not coincide with any other event making it possible for the police force to focus all their attention on this event. Additionally, the police force would also be monitoring the overall situation including traffic via a helicopter and have assistance from the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) on that day.

It is said that some 60,000 spectators would be flocking to witness this year's MotoGP after the event being absent for two years due to Covid-19 restriction.
ACP Imran goes on to advise attendees to use public transportation for everyone's convenience and ease congestion. However fans who are riding or driving are advised to park at only designated areas. Parking is free for all attendees who had purchased a ticket for the event. The police would not tolerate drivers who park on road shoulders and inconvenience others.
He said, “We ask for (your) cooperation for the smooth flow of traffic… park vehicles in the designated areas, parking this year is free. I also want to inform travellers heading to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA2, to plan their trip in advance”.
The MotoGP would go on starting today, followed by the qualifying session on Saturday and race day on Sunday.
