Expired Touch 'n Go Card Balance Refund, Did You Know It Can Be Done Entirely Online?

Guess by now most road users already know that your Touch ‘n Go (TnG) card does not last forever (don’t ask us why), it expires 10 years from the day it is printed. This applies even to your Malaysian Identification Card (IC) which can be used as a TnG card.
However, most of us (me included) have balances on quite a number of our expired cards that have been left unclaimed. The reason, it was so troublesome. Well those days in order to get your refund, you would need to go to TnG’s main office which was located in Bangsar South. Your cost to travel there vs the amount to be refunded back at most times did not make sense.
Fast forward to now, getting your refund is so much easier. Let's walk through all the steps that you would have to take to apply for your refund.
To begin with, you must first ensure your TnG cards are registered under your name in the TnG portal. To do that head to https://tngportal.touchngo.com.my/ and click “Register Additional Card/Device”.

You would next see a prompt to key in your card number (it does not matter if the card is active or expired). Key in the 10-digit serial number found on your card or your reload receipt and go through the next slide to enter your details to register the card under your name.
Once you have registered all your cards, you would see it listed under the “View Cards” tab.

Next head on to https://customerservice.touchngo.com.my/eRefund/Step1.aspx to begin your refund requests. Trust us, it's extremely simple.
To begin, key in your TnG card’s 10-digit serial number followed by your IC number.

Next key in your email and contact details.

In the next prompt, select “Card Termination” under the Refund Request, with “Expired Card” under the Reason Code. You would also be required to select a refund payment method. You would be able to receive your refund via your TnG e-Wallet or direct to your bank account. We prefer the TnG e-Wallet as it now serves as the main source to deducts your toll payments from not the card. You would have to key in the 16-digit TnG e-Wallet Account Number. This 16-digit number can be found on the profile section of your TnG e-Wallet App.

Once you have keyed in all these details, press submit to complete your refund process followed by entering the displayed security code. That's it, you are done. You can now check the status of your refund through this link, https://customerservice.touchngo.com.my/erefund/CheckStatus.aspx.

TnG indicates that the entire refund process would take no longer than 30 days. Now go on and repeat the processes for all the other expired cards, we are sure you have a couple laying around.
