Lekas Highway Closed From 15 Oct - RHB Lekas Highway Ride 2022

Kajang-Seremban Highway (Lekas) would be closed to all vehicles temporarily from 5pm, Saturday (15th Oct) upto 4am on Sunday (16th Oct), to make way for cyclists participating in the annual Lekas Highway night race, the seventh edition of the RHB Lekas Highway Ride 2022.
This year, sees a strong participation number from 5,618 cyclists across 4 distance categories, 120km, 75km, 17km and 12km. This event is organised annually by the highway concession holder themselves with approval from the Malaysian Sports Commissioner.

According to the Lekas CEO Wan Salwani Wan Yusoff, the road closure will begin from the Kajang Selatan Interchange right up-to the Paroi Junction. This stretch would involve closure of about 19 additional road junctions to ensure the safety of the participants. However, Wan Salwani added that they have deployed several alternative routes to ensure road users travel routes remain uninterrupted. This event would also result in a projected revenue lost from 40,000 highway users for the concessionaire.
The RHB Lekas Highway Ride 2022, has obtained the necessary approval from the Works Ministry and Malaysian Highway Authority who are also among the sponsors for this event. Bukit Aman's Traffic Division would be manning and monitoring the entire closed off roads and junctions.

Wan Salwani also said, “We would like to convey our gratitude to the police for their cooperation and support by providing officers from Kajang, Mantin, Nilai and Seremban to assist in the road closure”. Operators of Lekas would also like to sincerely apologise to road users for any inconvenience caused.
