Additional KTMB Train Services for GE-15 Announced
If you’re planning to go back to your hometown and vote in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15) but don’t wish to get stuck in a traffic jam? Then, have we got some good news for you courtesy of our national train service provider!
In conjunction with GE15 that will be held this month on Nov 19, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will provide additional train services for both its KTM Intercity East Coast line and the North-South Electric Train Services (ETS) line. These additional services will run from Nov 18 to Nov 20.
In KTMB’s statement issued earlier today, the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ special train services will provide an additional 716 tickets for the East Coast line and a further 2,520 tickets for the ETS line – a much-welcomed initiative to facilitate voters in fulfilling their civic duties indeed.
Special trains for the East Coast line will depart from KTM’s KL Sentral station on Nov 18 at 3.40 PM, due to arrive at its last stop – Tumpat, Kelantan – at 7.40 AM the next day (Nov 19). The returning train will then depart from Tumpat station on Nov 20 at 5.10 PM, and is expected to arrive at KL Sentral station at 11.26 AM the following day (Nov 21).
For the ETS line, the earliest train will depart from KL Sentral on Nov 18 at 5.05 PM, arriving at its final stop of Padang Besar, Perlis at 10.34 PM. The earliest returning trip will be on Nov 19, with trains departing from Padang Besar at 5.50PM, due to arrive at KL Sentral at 11.28 PM.
Ticket sales for the ‘Keluarga Malaysia’ special train services will commence at 2PM today (1 Nov) via KTMB’s official website. For any additional inquiries, kindly contact their customer service centre via said website or just call 03-22671200.
