Public Allowed To Travel Anywhere Despite Roadblocks – PDRM

Despite the 24-hour roadblocks, police have told the people that they are free to travel.
Johor police head Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said 22 roadblocks had been placed strategically throughout the state.
“This is part of our omnipresence and crime prevention strategy. The public should not be fearful as the roadblocks are set up for their own security.
“The public should not listen to rumours,” he said yesterday.
Members of the public, according to Comm Kamarul Zaman, were free to travel to any location, including Kuala Lumpur.
"There is no reason why they cannot go if they can afford to pay the toll," he said.
Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, Inspector-General of Police, had previously stated in a statement that Bukit Aman would be executing 24-hour roadblocks at critical areas around the country beginning Tuesday.

"Three roadblocks have been set up in the northeast area, one in the southwest, two in south Seberang Prai, two in central Seberang Prai, and four in north Seberang Prai," he stated at a press conference held yesterday at the state police headquarters.

According to him, the police have opened 28 investigation documents for investigation.

According to him, the police have opened 28 investigation documents for investigation.
"No arrests have been made thus far, and all instances are being investigated in accordance with Section 7 of the Election Offences Act 1954," he stated.

He stated that the occurrences were among 76 reports received by police throughout the GE15 period, which lasted from November 5 to November 19.
He also stated that 43 investigation documents for various electoral offences had been opened, and that police had effectively resolved four cases.
He also stated that during the GE15 time, police got a report regarding a viral video on social media involving a lawmaker from a political party that touched on religious sensitivities.
"Eight police reports have also been submitted in other states," he claimed, citing Kuala Lumpur (three), Perak (two), and Pahang, Kelantan, and Sabah.
Bukit Aman is investigating the case through the USJT (Classified Criminal Investigations Department) under Section 4A(1) of the Election Offences Act 1954, Section 298 of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, he added.
