New Ford 3S Centre Breaks Ground In Penang, Opens In 2024

Malaysian importers and distributors of Ford vehicles Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) has broken ground for its latest Ford 3S Centre in Penang. The RM16.6 million facility will see SDAC expanding its Northern region operations while serving Ford owners in surrounding areas.

Located in Seberang Perai, Penang, the 45,000 square feet facility will feature 18 service bays and a showroom capable of housing up six-vehicle display space. Its construction is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2024, thus offering more options for Ford owners in Penang to service their vehicles in the near future.

Officiating the ground breaking ceremony was Turse Zahir, managing director of SDAC, George Ngiah, SDAC’s head of sales and distribution, and Peter Chan, dealer principal of SDAC Penang.
“As a 3S Centre offering end-to-end services, the facility will offer greater convenience and accessibility for Malaysians. This investment is a clear reflection of our commitment to meet the needs of the market, as we strive to raise the bar in elevating the customer experience,” said Turse Zahir.
Also present during said event was D.J. Simpson, managing director of Ford Asia Pacific. “With our distributor partner Sime Darby Auto Connexion-Ford, we are pleased to continue to expand our network in Malaysia with this latest facility. Penang is a key market with strong prospects for Ford and Sime Darby Auto Connexion,” the exec added.
SDAC-Ford’s latest facility will be the second 3S Centre located in the Pearl of the Orient state, with the Ford Juru 3S Centre being the sole outlet currently operating in said northern island state.
