Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sold 24,017 Vehicles In 2022
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) announced today that its overall sales have reached a new high of 24,017 vehicles from January to December 2022. This marks a 37.3% increase over the same period in 2021.
With said record sales, MMM has earned its place among the top three spots in the non-national automotive segment. The Mitsubishi Xpander dominated the non-national MPV segment in Malaysia in 2022 with 14,316 units sold from January to December 2022. Said model’s sales charted an increase of 93.5% compared to 2021 and contributed 59.6% to the company’s overall total sales.
Deliveries of the Triton increased by 4.6% with 9,697 units delivered from January to December 2022. In turn, this allowed said pick-up truck to maintain its ranking as the second best performer in segment despite fierce competition such as the arrival of the new generation Ford Ranger.
“MMM is delighted to achieve a record-high sales performance in 2022, and we thank each and every Mitsubishi customer across the nation for their unwavering support. One of our significant achievements of the year was that we celebrated the Triton pick-up truck reaching a 100,000-unit sales milestone in Malaysia since MMM’s inception in 2005,” said the firm in its press statement issued today.
“Looking ahead to 2023, Mitsubishi Motors is initiating changes for the better, and an ownership experience of the highest standards. We look forward to continuing an upward trajectory and achieving future growth together,” added Shinya Ikeda, CEO of MMM.
