2023 Range Rover L460 Lands – From RM2.488 Million

As announced last month, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLR Malaysia) has introduced the all-new fifth generation Range Rover for Malaysia earlier today. Specifically, it’s the L460 variant that’s now available, which comes in short wheelbase (SWB) form, and trimmed in HSE (High Specification Equipment) trimline.

Constructed upon JLR’s new Flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex) platform, the latest-gen Range Rover boasts torsional rigidity improvements of over 50% over its predecessor, whilst a new steel front bulkhead with a closed-section arrangement sees noise and low-frequency vibrations lowered in the cabin by as much as 24%.
In terms of size, the Range Rover L460 sits 5,052 MM long with a wheelbase of 2,997 MM, 2,047 MM wide and 1,870 MM tall. It all sees this new model sit both 75 MM longer with a roofline that’s also 10 MM lower as well.

Following up from that is the sleek new minimalist exterior design that features flush elements, clean expansive surfaces, precise detailing, digital LED headlights as well as a somewhat ‘hidden’ taillight, amongst its many cues. As for wheels, 22-inch is standard equipment, but options for larger 23-inch types are available as well.

Though a variety of powertrain options including a several plug-in hybrid (PHEV) choices are offered globally, JLR Malaysia has opted for a pure combustion setup instead for the Malaysian-flavoured Range Rover L460. It employs a familiar 4.4-litre V8 turbo heart that serves up 530 HP and 750 NM, both managed by a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic and a trick all-wheel-drive (AWD) suite.
Said powertrain delivers respectable performance to say the least, with 0-100 KM/H despatched in 4.6 seconds whilst enroute towards an electronically-governed V-max of 250 KM/H. Other key chassis features include electronic air suspension, an electronically active rear locking differential, as well as all-wheel-steering promising kerb-to-kerb turn radius under 11 metres.

On board, the new Range Rover L460’s cabin is trimmed with semi-aniline leather seat upholstery, three-zone climate control, 30-colour ambient lighting, a head-up display as well as powered front seats with heating and ventilation functions.
Other key highlights include the new fully digital instrument display panel, followed by a curved infotainment touchscreen unit.

Also present is an Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature, followed by a bevy of active driver assistances (ADAS). The latter includes autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with steering assist, blind spot monitoring, driver attention monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, assisted parking and traffic sign recognition, amongst many others.

Like before, a bevy of personalisation is available on hand too. This includes rear seat entertainment touchscreens, an extensive catalogue of interior trim materials and finishes, not forgetting a variety of exterior colour schemes as well. By the way, the aforementioned optional 23-inch wheels are the largest ever fitted to a Range Rover as well.
Are you digging this new and higher form of go-anywhere luxury? The new Range Rover L460 commands a base starting price tag of RM2,488,000 inclusive of duties but excluding on-road costs and options. The price reads at RM1,268,000 excluding duties instead.
Included in both prices too is the Land Rover Care programme, which features a 5-year warranty and free service plus 3-year of roadside assistance.
