Bentley Teases New Flying Spur With V8 PHEV For 2025

Bentley released this teaser image of its upcoming 2025MY Flying Spur four-door limo. Critically, the firm confirmed that it will share the same V8 PHEV as the new Continental GT.
The famed ‘Flying-B’ marque from Crewe announced earlier today that it will release a revised version of its signature Flying Spur four-door limo for the 2025 model year. Moreover, the marque also confirmed plans to have said model powered by its new V8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) mill.
Along with the announcement, Bentley also released a teaser image of the upcoming new Flying Spur’s front-end, indicating that it will receive visual updates and styling tweaks. Key amongst which we can see here are the redesigned intakes, new honeycomb grille pattern, and extra ADAS sensors.

Bentley's newest V8 PHEV heart outputs 771 HP and 1,000 NM of twist. It also boasts up to 72 of electric range from its 25.9 kWh battery.
Familiar looks aside, the new Flying Spur’s V8 PHEV heart will take centre stage as it will grant the this plush four-door with immense power and performance. That’s because this electrified V8 powertrain is shared with the all-new fourth-generation Bentley Continental GT revealed recently.
Said new flagship GT coupe was revealed in ‘Speed’ guise – a nameplate previously reserved for its W12-engined variants – that boasts up to 771 HP and 1,000 NM outputs. Additionally, this is the same powertrain fitted in the also just released Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid four-door fastback GT.

Bentley did fit a 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbo PHEV powertrain in the outgoing current Flying Spur, but it offered just 536 HP, 750 NM, and 40 KM of electric range.
Crucially, this new PHEV boasts significantly more power than the PHEV powertrain fitted in a variant of the outgoing current third-gen model, which pairs a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol mill with an e-motor and 14.1 kWh battery, altogether offering just 536 HP, 750 NM, and 40 KM of electric range.
Compared to the W12-engined Flying Spur Speed, electrification brings a 145 HP and 100 NM bump for said four-door limo. Bentley continued further in noting said PHEV package’s ability at delivering up to 72 KM of electric range, and that its 25.9 kWh battery accepts 11 kW AC charging inputs.

Lastly, Bentley further noted that a “significant amount of development” was invested into the new Flying Spur’s exhaust note. The Crewe-based firm emphasizes that no artificial enhancement was employed for which, though how this is possible remains unclear.
Given that the firm has given a glimpse of it, expect more details – or perhaps a full-on debut – of the new 2025 Bentley Flying Spur to surface in the coming weeks or months.
