MBPJ Closes Roads, Intersections For Contra Routes For Three Months Starting March 1st
Beginning on March 1, the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will close a number of roads and intersections in order to implement contra routes. Except on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and days when it rains, the three-month road closure (trial period) runs from 5 pm to 7 pm every day. The Jalan Othman-Jalan Templer Intersection, the Jalan Gasing-Jalan Templer Intersection, the Jalan Templer-Jalan 6/29 Intersection, and each median opening on Jalan Templer are among the streets and intersections that are reportedly affected by this.
The statement claims that closing intersections and roads only occurs when the contra route flow is in effect. “Vehicles from the direction of Jalan Gasing to go to Jalan Othman or the kawasan Melayu have to go through Jalan Changgai 6/22 or through Jalan Anak Gasing 6/5-Jalan Tinggi 6/12-Jalan Selangor. “Vehicles from the direction of Jalan Othman to Pantai Baru Highway (NPE) have to make a u-turn at Assunta Roundabout,” it said yesterday.

The statement further stated that this alternate route can be used for smoother driving by motorists coming from Petaling Jaya City Centre, Section 52/Federal Highway. “Road users are advised to drive carefully and obey the signs provided at the location. “Further questions and information can be directed to the Traffic Unit, MBPJ Engineering Department at 03-79584221 or email japatankejuruteraan@mbpj.gov.my,” it said.
