Betamek Electronics Sdn Bhd (BETAMEK) has entered a partnership with Singapore-based semiconductor firm Krakatoa Technologies. Both firms exchanged memorandum of understandings (MoUs) recently that will see them working together towards providing vehicle electronics offerings.

This latest collaboration reportedly aligns with the development of a battery management system-on-a-chip for electric vehicles, which the Singapore tech firm is proficient with.

According to Betamek Managing Director Mirzan Mahathir, the partnership is consistent with the group's overall corporate strategy in business expansion and to provide valuable experience and know-how in the automotive EMS market.

The former Perodua car-audio supplier also agreed to extend the review process and settle on the terms and conditions of the conclusive 12-month agreement upon execution date. This MoU will be effective for 12 months upon execution, and may be mutually extended by both parties, according.

Furthermore, this also entails improving the product line of vehicle electronics offered by the local tech manufacturer as another step to boost sales and broaden the company's clientele.
