Check Out This Limited-Edition Suzuki Jimny x Seiko Watch!
Suzuki is celebrating its iconic nameplate, the Jimny, by creating a limited-edition timepiece. This watch was borne out of the marque’s collaboration with renowned Japanese watchmaker, Seiko.
According to Japanese watch retailer Japan-Select, this special edition Jimny watch comes in two variants – the green-hued ‘Forest’ model, as well as the monotonous ‘Urban’ model. Both versions of the watch include the Jimny’s signature rhino logo on the watch face, as well as Suzuki logos on the end of the watch’s third hand and dial.
A striker option among the two, the ‘Forest’ model features a camo-painted dial, wrapped by army green-hued bezel and polished metal case. The silicone strap matches the bezel’s hue, giving the watch a rather green overall look.
On the other hand, the stealthier ‘Urban’ model comes with a blacked-out face with white rectangular dials. And just like the other model, the ‘Urban’ also comes with a polished metal case, with a matching black hue on both the silicone strap and bezel.
Befitting to the Jimny’s impressive off-roading prowess, this Seiko special watch is based off the brand’s diver’s watch model, which comes with a water resistant rating at up to 200 M below sea level.
This special edition Suzuki x Seiko watch is said to be retailed at around JPY 77,000 (RM2,586 approx.) for the ‘Urban’ model, while the ‘Forest’ model commands a higher price tag at JPY 88,000 (RM2,951). Unfortunately, the aforementioned Japan-Select website also reported that all models are already sold out.
The Suzuki Jimny is one of the most iconic off-roading vehicles ever made. Despite its pint-sized body, the Jimny is a very capable off-roading vehicle, often being the choice of many adventurers and outdoorsmen around the world.Apart from this limited-edition watch, Suzuki had also produced a slew of special edition Jimny models, including this Australia-only Suzuki Jimny Heritage Edition.
For the Malaysian market, the current-gen Suzuki Jimny comes in its standard three-door coupe bodystyle, powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cyl petrol engine rated at 100 HP and 130 NM that is mated with a four-speed automatic transmission.
