Govt To Complete Subsidised Diesel Control System Draft By 2H 2023 - Ahmad Maslan

According to Deputy Finance Minister 1, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, the government is currently drafting the subsidised diesel control system (SKDS), which is anticipated to be finished in the second half of this year.
He said that the government is also researching the effects of a possible rise in the cost of goods brought on by the implementation of SKDS.
To ensure that this sector is not impacted by its implementation, the government will provide a different approach to small and medium-sized businesses.
In a question-and-answer session at the Dewan Rakyat today, he said, "However, everything is still under study and this system will only be completed in the second half of this year while its implementation date has not yet been set."
Ahmad Maslan was responding to a follow-up query from Khoo Poay Tiong (PH-Kota Melaka), who asked about the justification for the initiative's implementation and the mitigation measures to help the affected sectors.
According to the minister, the government is looking into ways to improve the distribution of subsidies in order to cut back on leaks and maximise spending on initiatives that benefit the populace and the national economy.
He emphasized the goal is to strike a balance between the cost of subsidies and the requirement to maintain peoples' welfare and well-being.
