Launched: 2023 Bentley Bentayga Azure EWB – 542 HP V8, From RM1.091 Million

Bentley Kuala Lumpur has officially launched the all-new 2023 Bentley Bentayga Azure Extended Wheelbase (EWB) in Malaysia. First-time making its local debut, the luxurious SUV is poised for a price tag starting from RM1.091 million onwards.

Based on the second-gen Bentayga SUV, the Azure EWB model features an extended wheelbase of 3,175 MM – 180 MM more than the standard model. This, in turn, grants the Azure EWB with a much roomier and spacious cabin, enabling more luxurious amenities to be fitted in.

Visually, the Bentayga Azure EWB retains most of the standard model’s design cues. At the front, the Azure EWB rocks a fully-chromed vertical front grille, crowned by Bentley’s signature emblem, also wrapped in chrome. The lower part of the bumper features crosshatch enclosement for the lower air intakes and long strip, also finished in chrome. Bentley's signature rounded matrix LED headlights are also being wrapped in chrome, for good measure.

The chrome treatment continues along the Azure EWB’s side profile, with the presence of chrome strips along its lower part, as well as a small Azure badge above it. Apart from that, there’s also chrome-plated faux side air vents on the front quarter panel. The Azure EWB rides on massive 22-inch ten-spoke wheels, wrapped by Pirelli P Zero tyres.

Said chrome strips continued to the rear part, sitting just below the rear reflectors. And just like the front parts, the chrome-laden theme continues on the rear part, with the Bentley emblem and nameplate, as well as the oval-shaped quad tailpipes all imbued with chrome.

On board, the Azure EWB cabin oozes luxury, finished in premium materials like leather and wood veneers. Both materials featured extensively in the cabin, from the front dash to door cars, as well as on the central console, by the gear shifter. All four seats are wrapped in perforated leather upholstery that allows them to be fitted with a ventilation system.

Crowning the central console is Bentley’s clock face, also imbued in chrome. Meanwhile, there’s also a 10.9-inch infotainment display with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay sitting below said clock, plus all the climate controls mounted below it. As per any luxurious vehicles, the rear passengers will get their own climate vents, plus a separate control panel.

Topping off the Azure EWB’s luxurious cabin amenities is the 20-speaker sound system rated at 1720 W by Naim – a world-renowned audiophile sound system maker. Customers can also choose from up to 15 upholstery options, including the Camel and Beluga combination featured here.

Thanks to the longer wheelbase, the Azure EWB can now be fitted with brand-new Bentley Airline Seat specification. With a two rear seats layout, the Airline Seat spec comes standard with 22-way of adjustments, plus a new auto climate sensing system and postural adjustment technology – first-time ever featured in any automobiles around the world.
This novel auto climate seat technology senses the passengers’ temperature and surface humidity to formulate a perfect climate simulation relative to their conditions that keeps the passengers comfortable.

On the other hand, the postural adjustment system automatically makes adjustments to the passengers’ seating position and pressure points by measuring pressure across the seat surface. With up to 177 individual pressure changes across six pressure zones, passengers are guaranteed the best comfort money can buy.

The 22-way adjustment feature also grants the rear seats with Relax Mode, where the seat can be reclined to 40 degrees. Apart from that, there’s also the more conventional Business Mode, where the seats move into its most upright position, allowing passengers to work on their Azure EWB more comfortably.

Powering this SUV limousine is a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 mill that delivers up to 542 HP and 770 NM. Drive is sent to all four wheels (AWD) via a ZF-built 8-speed transmission. The Azure EWB features eight different driving modes with four ride height configurations to boot, powered by Bentley Dynamic Ride active roll control.
This, plus the air suspension system with Continuous Damping Control primed on the Azure EWB, ensures a smooth and comfortable ride, even on rough surfaces.

The 2023 Bentley Bentayga Azure EWB is now open for order, with a price tag starting from RM1.091 million before taxes, registration and additional options. Said options include more than 56 extended hue options, multiple veneer options, as well as the aforementioned leather upholstery hue options.
With all Azure EWB models currently available in stock are all have been spoken for, customers who are yet to place their order might have to wait for a while to cop one of these luxurious limousine SUVs.
