Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia 2023 Price Update – Xpander & Triton Up by RM3K

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has updated the price list for their vehicles in 2023, with both the Triton and Xpander experiencing price hikes of up to RM3,000.

Starting off with the Xpander, MMM offers this 7-seater MPV in a single 1.5-litre variant, which is now priced at RM99,980 on-the-road sans insurance. This translates to an increase of RM3,180 or 3.29% from its previous price of RM96,800.

Moving on to the trucks, the Triton 2.5 Quest 4x2 MT, the sole 4x2 option currently available for purchase, is now priced at RM83,890 – about RM2,500 or 3.07% more than its previous price (RM81,390).

As for the Triton 4x4 models, the baseline 2.4 VGT MT variant now commands a RM105,500 price tag, while the automatic 2.4 VGT AT variant is now worth RM109,990 – increasing at about RM2,300 (2.23%) and RM,2000 (1.85%) respectively.

Next on the list is the mid-spec Triton 2.4 VGT Premium spec, where the MT variant is now valued at RM118,700 – a RM2,500 or 2.15% increase from its previous price (RM116,200). Meanwhile, its automatic twin, the 2.4 VGT Premium AT, now commands a higher price tag of RM129,900 – some RM3,000 or 2.36% more than the old price.

Finally, the Triton 2.4 VGT Athlete AT variant commands the highest price hike compared to other models, increasing by RM3,600 or 2.25% more than the old price (RM146,600). This, in turn, grants the range-topping Triton a new price tag of RM149,900 – almost breaking the RM150,000 mark in the process.

Also important to note that MMM has removed the limited-run Triton Phantom Plus Edition from their official website price list, possibly indicating that all units are already spoken for. Launched in Aug last year, this special model was limited to only 1,000 units nationwide.

Prior to this, other Japanese marques like Toyota and Nissan have also updated their vehicle price list earlier this year, which saw several key models from both brands experiencing a slight surge in their prices. Both brands quoted fluctuating Forex rates and breakage in supply chains due to semiconductor shortage being one of the main reasons for such hike.
