"FF" Vehicle Registration Bidding Extended - JPJeBid System Failure
The bidding for the highly sought after "FF" car registration series, which was scheduled to finish yesterday, 18 May, has been extended for another 24 hours, and will now end on 19 May at 10 p.m.
According to Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke, who revealed this via social media, the reason was a flood of public complaints over an unstable JPJeBid system, which caused many people to be unable to continue their bid due to high system traffic load.
YB Loke would also promise to strengthen the digital systems of all Ministry of Transport (MOT) agencies in due course. YB Loke recently received system enhancement ideas from MOT's Digital Advisory Committee (JPD).
The current bid for the vehicle registration number FF8 stands at RM800,000
The "FF" automobile registration series was introduced to honour the 77th anniversary of the Road Transport Department (JPJ). The auction for this prefix began on May 14 and is projected to generate significantly more revenue for the department than prior releases.
The highest winning bid previously recorded was RM989,780 for registration “V1” and RM836,000 for registration "F1". However, as of May 18, 6:41 p.m. the vehicle registration "FF8" had already received an offer of RM800,000 and this or other numbers is the “FF” series is expected to close even higher at 10PM today.
