Launched: Mercedes-AMG GT63S E-Performance – 843 HP Super-PHEV, From RM2.09 Million

Surprise! Meet the 2023 Mercedes-AMG GT63S E-Performance super-PHEV!
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) sprang press members with a surprise launch this morning during Press Day at the Malaysia Auto Show 2023. The firm expanded its AMG-branded performance cars line up by introducing the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GT63S E-Performance plug-in hybrid (PHEV) four-door fastback.
According to MBM, the GT63S E-Performance brings Formula One-inspired hybrid petrol-electric tech and performance to the road, and it stands as Mercedes-AMG’s first E-Performance model too. Backing said claims is the model’s monstrous output figures – 843 HP and a whopping 1,400 NM.

4.0-litre AMG V8 twin-turbo works with an electric motor to serve up 843 HP and a whopping 1,400 NM.
Much of this stems from the signature hand-built AMG 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mounted up front. That gets paired with an electric motor plus a 6.1 kWh battery, with the electrified system offering 204 HP on its own plus a claimed all-electric range of roughly 11 KM.
Drive goes through all four wheels via an AMG 9-speed Speedshift MCT transmission and fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive (AWD). Complementing the performance drivetrain is a performance chassis laced with continuously adjustable AMG Ride Control+ suspension, integrated AMG Dynamics driving dynamics control system, carbon ceramic brakes, and electronic limited slip diff.

0-100 KM/H takes just 2.9 seconds, 0-200 KM/H in under 10 seconds, whilst V-max stands at 316 KM/H.
Altogether, the package enables this 2,380 KG (kerb) super-PHEV to despatch 0-100 KM/H in just 2.9 seconds, 0-200 KM/H in under 10 seconds, and a claimed V-max of 316 KM/H. Speed aside, electrification also allows the GT63S E-Performance to sip as low as 7.9 litres/100 KM on average plus equally low CO2 emissions average of 180 g/km.
The car that MBM unveiled today came dressed in a striking Manufaktur ‘Kalahari Gold’ hue – one of several exclusive colourways offered for the model. Standard equipped are both the AMG Night Package and AMG Night Package II exterior trim packs, the AMG Exterior Carbon pack, as well as a set of 21-inch 5 twin-spoke AMG forged alloy wheels featuring a striking two-tone black and high-sheen finish.

AMG trim elements in carbon in the cabin comes as standard.

Also standard are AMG Performance seats (left), plus various AMG-badged accessories.
On board, this four-door coupe super-PHEV sees its cabin furnished with AMG Performance seats in Exclusive nappa leather, AMG trim elements in carbon, two-tone leather steering wheel, deep-pile floor mats with embroidered AMG lettering, and decal sets in three colour variants for the side skirts. All of which, according to MBM, exudes an “unfiltered motorsport atmosphere”.
Available for orders through select Mercedes-Benz dealers now, the 2023 Mercedes-AMG GT63S E-Performance super-PHEV four-door coupe commands a princely base starting price of RM2,088,888. It will be on display at the Malaysia Auto Show 2023 this week within the Mercedes-Benz Pavilion at Hall A1.
