SEB And SEDC Energy Ink Collaboration Agreement With Gentari
Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) and SEDC Energy Sdn Bhd (SEDC Energy), have jointly signed two Strategic Collaboration Agreements (SCAs) with Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari).
With this arrangement, both Sarawak Economic Development Corporation subsidiaries and Gentari seek to explore the feasibility of developing and implementing renewable energy solutions in Sarawak.
The collaboration between Gentari and SEB is focused on diversifying and improving Sarawak's energy mix through the deployment of renewable energy projects. This partnership also intends to generate green hydrogen by utilising the state's plentiful renewable resources.
In addition, Gentari will collaborate with SEB and SEDC Energy to build a comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) charging network in Sarawak. This, in turn, will further promote green mobility options and push the state towards adopting low-carbon transport.
According to Sushil Purohit, CEO of Gentari, this collaboration intends to provide comprehensive clean energy solutions. This will position Sarawak state as a regional leader in the green hydrogen sector. It also seeks to build a greener and more resilient future for the state.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Energy Berhad CEO Datu Sharbini Suhaili expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying that it underlines their commitment to accelerate Sarawak's energy revolution and strengthen their position as a regional leader in renewable energy.
Additionally, Robert Hardin, CEO of SEDC Energy, also expressed his excitement about collaborating with Gentari in meeting the state's clean energy standards whilst also positioning Sarawak as a leader in the clean energy sector.
Moving forward, Gentari will work closely with the Sarawak State Government and other stakeholders in a public-private coordination framework to ensure this collaboration’s success. This coordinated effort will enhance communication, foster greater synergy, and streamline initiatives to achieve Sarawak's clean energy goals.
