SUKE Highway Phase 2 Teased
Prolintas has hinted at the upcoming Phase 2 of the Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Motorway (SUKE). The concessionaire posted a picture of the SUKE's Sri Petaling interchange, claiming that the journey from Ulu Kelang to Sri Petaling will take only 20 minutes.
"With the upcoming opening of the Sri Petaling interchange, SUKE Highway Phase 2, your journey will be faster!" This highway is the best option for avoiding traffic on the MRR2. SUKE Phase 2 provides a more comfortable and secure journey by connecting you directly to your destination. The caption reads, "This intersection will connect you to six other highways heading south of KL.
For the record, the first phase of the SUKE opened to traffic in September 2022. The first phase is a 16.6-kilometer stretch from Cheras-Kajang interchange to Bukit Antarabangsa. Phase 2 connects Sri Petaling and Kesas to the Cheras-Kajang interchange, which is located near Plaza Phoenix.
The first phase has 14 interchanges along its 24.4 km main line that consists of Sri Petaling, Sungai Besi, Alam Damai, Cheras-Kajang, Cheras-Hartamas, Bukit Teratai, Tasik Tambahan, Permai, Kosas, Pekan Ampang, Ampang Point, Ulu Kelang, Hillview, Bukit Antarabangsa.
As for the phase 2, the new SUKE highway will include interchanges at Sri Petaling, Sungai Besi, and Alam Damai.
The SUKE has three toll plazas: Alam Damai, Bukit Teratai, and Ampang. For Class 1 vehicles, or passenger vehicles, each toll plaza charges RM2.30.
SUKE is known as one of Malaysia's most scenic highways. It not only connects major roads, but it is also high up and offers spectacular views of the KL city skyline.
