2023 Mercedes-AMG SL 43 Price Announced – From RM999,888

Following its preview during the launch of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz A-Class lineup, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has finally unveiled the price tag for the new Mercedes-AMG SL 43 roadster.

The Mercedes-AMG SL 43 is powered by the same four-pot mill as the AMG A45S superhatch
For the Malaysian market, the SL 43 is powered by the same 2.0-litre 4-cyl turbocharged M139 engine that is used on the souped-up AMG A45S superhatch. Now mated to a 48-volt mild hybrid system, the SL 43 is capable of delivering 375 HP and 480 NM. Paired with a nine-speed AMG Speedshift gearbox, this roadster can accelerate from nought to 100 KM/H in just 4.9 seconds, en route to its V-max of 275 KM/H.

Amongst the new update in the SL 43 model is the improved fabric soft-top roof, which Mercedes claims can be opened in just 15 seconds, while being operable even at 60 KM/H speed.

As standard, the SL 43 gets several AMG parts, including the AMG high-performance compound brake, AMG sport suspension setup, as well as AMG Real Performance Sound exhaust system. On the cosmetic front, this model comes standard with the AMG exterior chrome package, which adds several chromed up touches around the car, including on its front grille, the 21-inch AMG forged wheels and the quad tailpipes.

On board, you’ll find several latest Mercedes-Benz equipment, including the sizable 11.9-inch MBUX infotainment display that is tiltable from 12 to 32 degrees, supplemented by the larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that hides beneath the sporty AMG Performance steering wheel. Other tech highlights include the wireless charging pad, dual-zone A/C, Driving Assistant Package, Parking Package, 360-degree camera and Active Parking Assist.

Elsewhere, the SL 43 also comes with a slew of luxury touches like the Nappa leather upholstery for the seats, ambient lighting system, illuminated AMG door sills, as well as a Burmester premium Hi-Fi system.

Available in six different colourways – Sun Yellow, Selenite Grey, Hyper Blue, Obsidian Black, Spectral Blue and High-tech Silver – the fully-imported (CBU) 2023 Mercedes-AMG SL 43 roadster is now available for booking, with pricing starts at RM999,888 on-the-road sans insurance. As for now, MBM remained tight-lipped for the warranty package offered to this roadster, but we expect it would come with the standard 4-year, unlimited mileage vehicle warranty coverage.

So folks, what do you think of this new Mercedes-AMG SL 43 roadster? Keen to see this convertible model rolling down our local B-roads? Or would you prefer its peppier SL 55 or the V8-powered SL 63 twins? As always, don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments down below…
