EPMB, Blueshark Partner With Grab On Green Mobility
The leading super-app in Southeast Asia, Grab, and the supplier of electric scooters, Blueshark Ecosystem Sdn Bhd, have teamed up with EP Manufacturing Bhd (EPMB) to develop sustainable transportation options, The Star reported.
In accordance with this partnership, EP Blueshark Sdn Bhd (EPSB), a fully owned subsidiary of EPMB, will assume the initiative in collaborating with Grab and Blueshark to advance green mobility and propel ESG initiatives throughout the region.
The R1 pilot programme, in which Blueshark will loan 50 of its R1 electric motorcycles to chosen Grab delivery partners for a trial period, is the initiative's centrepiece, according to a statement from EPMB.
The production, assembling, and distribution of Blueshark's IOV electric motorcycle are part of a second significant initiative known as the EV programme. Grab's network of delivery and driver partners will have discounted access to this clever EV scooter.
Additionally, Blueshark will offer discounted motorcycle batteries to Grab's partner network.
The trio's cooperation represents a significant step towards promoting eco-aware behaviours within the gig economy and expanding access to environmentally friendly mobility options.
The collaboration with Grab, according to EPMB group CEO Ahmad Razlan Mohamed, gives EPMB and Blueshark access to a sizable user network associated with one of the most well-known brands in the gig economy. He continued that it demonstrates Grab's commitment to becoming carbon neutral by 2040.
EPMB, a supplier to the automotive industry, runs five plants and factories in Malaysia and provides modular assemblies, safety, and essential parts to automakers like Proton, Perodua, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, and Kia.
