Maxis Inks MOU With Blueshark And EVC For 4G And 5G Connectivity
Maxis has entered a partnership agreement with EV smart scooters brand Blueshark, as well as EV Connection Sdn. Bhd. (EVC), operators of the JomCharge charging network. Together, all parties have agreed to assist each in expeditoing the adoption of e-mobility solutions.
Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were formalised between Maxis, Blueshark and EVC through a document exchange ceremony held at the E-Mobility Asia (EMA) 2023 exhibition held at the KL Convention Centre this week from 22 to 24 Nov 2023.
Additionally, said MoU formalisation ceremony was witnessed by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, the Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry, Malaysia.
Following which, Maxis is set to furnish 4G and 5G network connectivity solutions to both Blueshark and EVC, catering to the e-mobility requirements of their electric vehicle (EV) assets and infrastructure here too.
Furthermore, Maxis will collaborate with both entities to explore inventive digital solutions aimed at expediting the integration of new technologies within the EV ecosystem.
To kick things off, Maxis plans on developing an ESG dashboard, which will enable Blueshark customers to assess and analyse their carbon footprint generated by their electric scooters. This dashboard will leverage Maxis's comprehensive capabilities which spans across cloud services, data analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Maxis 4G and 5G network will provide crucial connectivity for Blueshark’s fleet, ensuring secure and reliable data collection for the dashboard, complete with Application Programming Interface (API) integration.
Maxis will also extend network connectivity to Blueshark's battery swap stations across Malaysia, facilitating efficient analysis and management of their battery inventory.
Prateek Pashine, Chief Enterprise Business Officer of Maxis, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasising Maxis' capabilities as a leading integrated telecom company to meet the end-to-end needs of smart mobility businesses.
Meanwhile, Ir Lee Yuen How, Managing Director of EVC, highlighted Maxis IoT connectivity as a solution to address key challenges in the EV industry.
Jin Chan, Group COO (ASEAN) of Blueshark Ecosystem Sdn Bhd, emphasised the importance of Maxis connectivity in enhancing Blueshark's app-to-bike ecosystem, providing real-time monitoring and tracking for a seamless and instant rider experience.
Prior to this, CelcomDigi and Yinson signed a similar Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support Yinson's chargEV, rydeEV, and drivEV range of eMobility services in the area of network connectivity with regards to EV infrastructure and electric mobility.
