Online Payment System For Driving License, Road Tax Will Launch In A Few Months
Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook announced that the online payment system for Malaysian Driving Licence (LMM) and Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM) will be launched in a few months. The system is currently being tested to ensure a smooth launch.
According to Bernama, Loke stated that the online payment system has completed the Proof of Concept (POC) implementation but is still being tested. When it is released in the coming months, the system will be accessible via the MyJPJ application system.
The minister also emphasised the importance of the tests in ensuring that the system does not crash due to high traffic. In addition, the Transport Minister stated that the introduction of digital display modes for LKM and LMM in February helped reduce congestion at Road Transport Department (JPJ) counters.
He did, however, say that vehicle owners can still apply for a physical copy of their licence and road tax, especially if they plan to drive abroad, because the digital licence is only valid in our country.
