Open Toll Payment Pilot Test Starts On Besraya And NPE
IJM Toll Division began testing the open toll payment system (OTPS) on the Sungai Besi Expressway (Besraya) and the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) yesterday (27 August), Bernama reported.
Its chief operating officer, Chua Lay Hoon, stated that the pilot test is in line with the government's initiative to provide alternative payment methods for highway users.
“OTPS allows highway users to pay toll using debit, credit or prepaid cards in addition to existing methods such as Touch ‘n Go (TnG), SmartTag and RFID.
“During the pilot test, lanes that provide OTPS can be identified through special signs on the gantry to help motorists,” she said in a statement.
She also reminded Besraya and NPE users to keep enough balance on their cards.
She stated that if a transaction with a specific card fails, users can use another bank or TnG card.
“IJM Toll Division hopes the implementation of the OTPS can provide convenience to highway users while helping launch new toll collection systems,” she added.
