Rapid KL has announced extended operation hours for its LRT, MRT, and KL Monorail stations in preparation for the impending "Sambutan Ambang Merdeka 2023" celebration on Merdeka Day eve. These expansions are intended to accommodate the festivities while also making travel more accessible to the general people.
Rapid KL will also extend the working hours of its buses, allowing first and last-mile connectivity until 2am to ensure seamless transportation for participants. This project is part of their commitment to offering comprehensive event transport services.

Rapid KL has assigned a fleet of 22 buses to take celebrants to ten key station locations in Kuala Lumpur. Pasar Seni, Lin Ho Jalan Lekiu, KLCC, Titiwangsa through Chow Kit, Bandaraya LRT Station, Lebuh Pudu Hub via Bukit Bintang, Lebuh Pudu Hub via LRT Salak South, Lebuh Ampang, Titiwangsa, and Maybank Tower via Bukit Bintang are some of these stations. This well-planned bus service will provide easy access to the celebration locations.
It's worth noting that, due to road closures, officials highly advise anyone wanting to attend "Sambutan Ambang Merdeka 2023" to take public transit wherever possible. This preemptive effort is intended to reduce traffic congestion and ensure a smooth flow of traffic during this particular event.
